Word Capitalization

Word Capitalization

As you notice when working in Word, it always capitalizes your first letter automatically. Word does this so you do not forget to capitalize your first letter after a period. For some words like iPhone, eBay, etc. you may not want Word to capitalize those letters. You may come across wanting to turn this off or turn it back on. Below are some steps to do so.


  1. Open Word and select a word that you want either, capitalized or small caps. 
  2. After doing step 1, click the "Aa" icon in the Home tab near the font section.
  3. Selecting "Aa" will give you the option to Sentence case., lowercase, UPPERCASE, Capitalize Each Word, and lastly, tOGGLE cASE. Below is a screenshot of the examples.
